Riley announced on his last show that he is staying on SiriusXM. He then complained that he still wasn't being paid and plugged a new website called payriley.com. On the site, you can literally send Riley Martin money to keep him on SiriusXM.
I don't suggest any other canned DJ should do this; but it fits for Martin.

50's channel rumblings.
Apparently, the 50's channel will keep Norm N. Nite; Cousin Brucie moves to 5; and 70's Dave Hoeffel will move to the 50's. Alex Ward and Cool Bobby B. will stay.
As I said in my post about the new lineup, Matt the Cat and TJ Lubinsky are going to be missed.
Looking at it another way. If they choose not to bring these guys back, they should have Brucie do a Doo Wop show since he just wrote a book on the subject.

SiriusXM's new "merged" line-up ready to debut.
ProducerJ, who apparently works for XM and didn't get canned, wrote in her blog...
"I do want people to take into consideration that this new lineup really is a merger - and it's working well. Even though a channel may take the name from one company, it's often being programmed by someone new, 100% of the production had to be redone, the best shows survived, the best air talents were kept, we're making new friends and most everything is being programmed out of the XM databases."

Look. The best shows and on-air talent were not kept! Matt the Cat from XM 50's on 5 and TJ Lubinsky from Sirius Gold's Doo Wop Show were let go. I realize that this lady probably has no idea who these guys were, so she shouldn't make the statement.
Matt the Cat, of the Night Prowl Show, had a great Halloween show, and the "Cat Fight," where he would play the same song by two different artists and the listeners would vote the winner. Matt actually played every vote called in, on the air. His knowledge of the music is second-to-none and he's only 38 years old. He appeals to both the older fan and younger listeners. I can't believe SiriusXM would let him go.
TJ Lubinsky was doing the Doo Wop Show and they canned him for the syndicated Cool Bobby B. While I like Bobby B's show, why would you get rid of the live request show of TJ's. I think they should have kept both. Instead of repeating Bobby B's show 4 times, they could cut it to twice and give TJ his show back. Also, Lubinsky is only 36 years old and brings this genre of music to the younger listener (like Matt). Plus, he did his show from his basement studio in Pittsburgh which I always thought was really cool.
The reason these on-air talents were released was for money reasons. Nobody at SiriusXM analyzed if they were good or not. They made a certain amount of money and were axed.
I am looking forward to the new channel line-up. I am actually excited to see what is changed and what's new.
One thing this lady said that was interesting was that the stuff was being being programmed from the XM databases which sounds promising as far a playlists go.
